The Ribnica Trail winds through the forested hills surrounding this historic Slovenian town, known for its centuries-old pottery tradition. Starting from Ribnica Castle, runners follow forest paths and quiet dirt roads through Mala Gora, passing the charming Church of St. Ana before dropping into the Struge valley. The 41-kilometre route climbs to Stene Sv. Ane and pushes on to Grmada hut near Velike Poljane, where sweeping views open across the Ribnica valley. A shorter 25-kilometre option covers similar terrain with less elevation. Both routes feature steady climbs and technical sections through mixed woodland, rewarding runners comfortable with sustained ascents and natural trails in Slovenia's quietly beautiful countryside.
