Knap Trail

The Knap Trail threads through Slovenia's Zasavje hills in early January, linking three municipalities across terrain that rewards winter trail runners with sweeping views. The 51km route climbs above 1000 metres three times, while the 30km and 16km options offer shorter challenges through the same landscape. Snow-covered paths are typical for this event, adding a technical layer that transforms familiar distances into something more demanding. Winter conditions mean every runner should come prepared for challenging footing and genuine mountain weather, making this a proper test for experienced trail runners comfortable with winter terrain.
