Ultra X Slovenia takes runners through the stunning landscapes of western Slovenia, where Alpine peaks meet Mediterranean warmth. Based in the Vipava Valley near Zatolmin, the route winds through vineyards, rolling hills, and panoramic plateaus with the Julian Alps as a dramatic backdrop. The event offers distances from 12km up to 110km, which can be tackled as a single push or split across two stages. This UTMB Index Race attracts serious mountain runners, though the shorter distances provide more accessible entry points for those building experience. The terrain varies significantly, blending technical alpine trails with gentler valley sections. Slovenia remains one of Europe's quieter trail running destinations, offering authentic mountain culture alongside world-class scenery.
