Ultra X Scotland takes runners deep into the rugged northwest Highlands, where ancient glens, vast lochs, and open moorland create a truly wild setting. The route follows the legendary Great Glen and skirts Loch Ness, offering dramatic landscapes alongside serious physical challenge. With options ranging from a 25km introduction to the terrain up to a full 110km ultra (available as a single push or split across two days), the event caters to various ambitions while maintaining its demanding character. Expect varied footing, changeable Highland weather, and long stretches of solitude—this is trail running stripped back to its essentials, where the landscape does the talking.
