The Öland Ultra Trail takes runners across Sweden's second-largest island, weaving through landscapes that feel wonderfully remote. The 50km and 25km routes pass through places with evocative names — Byrums Occidentalis, Neptuni Fields, the Troll Forest — where limestone pavements meet coastal meadows and ancient woodlands. Starting from the northern tip near Böda Sand and Byxelkrok, the course winds south through terrain that's distinctly Swedish: windswept, rugged, and unexpectedly varied. Runners finish by the Baltic Sea, with that satisfying mix of tired legs and the kind of scenery that stays with you.
