This 106-mile journey along Northern Ireland's Causeway Coast covers some of the region's most striking landscapes. Starting from Ballintoy, runners follow the Ulster Way past the Giants Causeway, through coastal towns like Portrush and Ballycastle, before heading inland to the rugged Sperrin Mountains and Glenshane Pass. The route weaves through varied terrain—bogland, forest trails, beaches, and roads—offering constantly changing views from dramatic coastline to wild uplands. Navigation is self-guided using a provided GPX file, with no course markings or marshals along the way, giving the event a remote, exploratory feel that suits experienced ultra runners looking for a genuine wilderness challenge.
