The Volvic Volcanic Experience traces a spectacular route through the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage volcanic landscape in the heart of Auvergne. Nine distances from 17km to 105km wind around ancient volcanic cones, with the course designed for experienced runners comfortable with sustained climbing. Many runners treasure the sunrise summit of Puy de Dôme, the region's iconic 1,465-metre peak, while the route balances ascents and descents across multiple puys to showcase this exceptional terrain. The longer distances offer a duo relay option, allowing running partners to share the challenge of navigating this geological wonder in early May.
