The Ultra Trail du Beaujolais Vert winds through the rolling hills and vineyards of France's Beaujolais region, where pastoral charm meets technical challenge. Based in Cublize, the event offers three progressively demanding routes: a 22km course with 940m of climbing, a 42km route tackling 1,890m of elevation, and an 82km ultra with nearly 3,780m of vertical gain. The terrain rewards experienced runners who relish sustained climbs and quintessentially French countryside. October's cooler temperatures and dramatic autumn skies make ideal conditions for those tackling the longer distances, though all three routes demand respect for the relentless elevation profiles that define this corner of the Beaujolais.
