Ultra Blue Island brings trail runners to Faial, a volcanic island in the Azores where ancient whaling paths wind through landscapes of deep blue ocean and colorful coastal villages. The courses traverse volcanic terrain with views stretching across the North Atlantic, passing through routes once used by island whalers. Five distances range from an 11km family route to the 118km Whalers Great Route, which challenges experienced ultra runners with sustained elevation and technical sections. The marathon crosses the island coast to coast, while the 25km Trail Ten Volcanoes explores the island's dramatic volcanic heritage. The remote island setting creates an intimate racing atmosphere far from mainland crowds.
