EPIC Trail Run Azores

About this event

Set against the volcanic landscapes of São Miguel Island in the Azores, this December trail running event explores one of the Atlantic's most distinctive environments. Five distances range from 16km with 820 metres of climbing to a demanding 166km ultra featuring 9,250 metres of elevation gain. Courses wind through lush green valleys, past crater lakes, and along coastal paths where ancient calderas meet the ocean. The routes start from Goreana's historic tea plantations and traverse terrain that feels uniquely removed from mainland Europe. The 34km and 61km options offer substantial challenges while showcasing the island's varied landscapes, making this a compelling destination for experienced trail runners seeking something different.
