Set in the charming village of Fanhões, just north of Lisbon, Trilhos dos Calceteiros offers three well-crafted routes through Portugal's rolling countryside. The 10km option provides a gentle introduction to trail running with 400 metres of climbing, perfect for those taking their first steps off the road. More experienced runners can tackle the 17km course with its 700 metres of elevation, while the 31km route presents a proper challenge with 1300 metres of climbing through varied terrain. The event takes its name from the traditional Portuguese stonemasons (calceteiros) who once shaped these paths, adding a touch of local heritage to each stride. With distances suited to every level, it's an ideal springtime race that welcomes newcomers while keeping seasoned trail runners engaged.
