Trilhos do Burel

Nestled in Portugal's Serra da Estrela, the country's highest mountain range, Trilhos do Burel takes its name from the traditional wool fabric woven in this region for centuries. Three routes explore different faces of Manteigas' dramatic landscape: a 12km course with 613m of climbing, a 17km variant gaining 960m, and a demanding 34km route ascending 1,530m. The terrain is technical and authentic, ranging from riverside trails to high-altitude ridges with sweeping views across the serra. November brings crisp mountain air and often those magical misty mornings that make these peaks famous, adding atmosphere to an already challenging day on Portugal's most storied trails.
