The Trail du Petit Saint Bernard winds through alpine terrain near Les Chapieux in the French Alps, offering an unusually wide range of distances. Beginners can start with gentler 5km or 9km options, while the longest route — a 103km ultra with 6,700 metres of climbing — challenges experienced mountain runners. The courses explore high passes and valleys where France meets Italy, with terrain ranging from rolling trails to steep alpine ascents. Set in late September when autumn begins to color the peaks, the event welcomes both first-timers testing trail running and groups with mixed experience levels, all sharing the same mountain landscape.
