Trail do Marco

Trail do Marco takes runners through the rugged hills of Marco de Canavezes in northern Portugal's wine country. The event offers three demanding routes that climb through terraced vineyards and wooded ridges. The 17-kilometre course tackles 700 metres of ascent, while the 31-kilometre option doubles the elevation gain across exposed hillsides. The 50-kilometre route ventures deep into the backcountry with 2,500 metres of climbing over technical terrain. Held in early November when autumn colours peak and temperatures cool, this event suits experienced trail runners ready to tackle Portugal's mountainous interior.
