Trail Costa Vicentina

The Trail Costa Vicentina follows sections of the famous Rota Vicentina, a stunning coastal path along Portugal's wild Atlantic coast. Runners tackle either a 30km route starting from Cercal do Alentejo or the full 57km journey beginning at the historic Igreja Matriz in Santiago do Cacém, both finishing in the charming fishing village of Porto Covo. The terrain weaves through cork oak forests, rolling countryside, and dramatic clifftop trails with sweeping ocean views. While the elevation gain is moderate (555m for the shorter route, 834m for the longer), the technical nature of the trails and the distances make this better suited to runners with trail experience. The November timing brings cooler temperatures and the chance to experience Portugal's southwest corner at its most peaceful.
