The Maverick Jurassic Coast X-Trail

This October ultra traces England's dramatic Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where ancient limestone cliffs meet the sea. The 101km route starts at Hardy Monument and follows the South West Coast Path past Durdle Door's iconic arch and Lulworth Cove, while the 53km begins near Corfe Castle's medieval ruins and heads coastward through marshland. Both routes pass the chalk stacks of Old Harry Rocks and run along coastal ridgelines with sweeping ocean views. The longer distance adds significant elevation through varied terrain, including the steep steps at St. Aldhelm's Head. Runners traverse centuries-old geology and historic landmarks across the Purbeck peninsula. The course requires solid trail experience for its sustained climbs and technical coastal sections, but delivers some of southern England's most striking scenery.
