Leeds Country Way Winter Ultras

About this event

The Leeds Country Way Winter Ultras follow a 59-kilometre point-to-point route through West Yorkshire's surprisingly rural landscapes. Despite remaining within 11 kilometres of Leeds city centre, the course feels remarkably remote as it threads through bridleways, woodland trails, and quiet country paths linking villages, nature reserves, and parkland. The January date brings short daylight hours and unpredictable weather, making this a test of navigation and self-reliance. The technical, varied terrain suits experienced ultra runners who appreciate the stripped-back character of winter trail running. The low-key format provides essential support while preserving the authentic challenge of tackling serious distance in cold-season conditions across an unexpectedly wild corner of northern England.
