The Winter Downs 200 weaves 338 kilometres through southern England's iconic long-distance paths, connecting the North Downs Way, South Downs Way, Vanguard Way, Wayfarers Walk, and St Swithuns Way into a single continuous loop. Runners have 96 hours to navigate rolling chalk downland and ancient trackways, accumulating over 6,000 metres of climbing along the way. Taking place in December when these trails show their wildest character, this event demands solid ultra experience and confident navigation skills. The route passes through some of England's most historic walking country, where winter conditions add an extra dimension to an already substantial challenge.
