Povoação Trail

Set on São Miguel Island in the Azores, this March trail event explores the volcanic landscapes around Povoação through a mix of forest tracks, agricultural paths, and waterside trails. The 19-kilometre route offers 955 metres of climbing for intermediate runners, while the 31-kilometre and 52-kilometre options test more experienced trail runners with 2,206 and 3,456 metres of elevation respectively. The terrain delivers the lush, dramatic scenery the Azores are known for, combined with technical descents and sustained climbs through the island's mountainous interior. All routes finish at Povoação's marina, bringing runners from the heights back to the Atlantic coast.
