Montesinho 101 MTB Marathon

About this event

After a seven-year hiatus, the Montesinho 101 MTB Marathon returns to the pristine trails around Bragança in northern Portugal. Set in one of the country's most remote and unspoiled mountain regions, this GPS-guided adventure offers three challenging distances: a full 101km marathon with nearly 2,000m of climbing, a 67km option, and a 35km route. The courses wind through the Montesinho Natural Park, where dense forests, high moorlands, and traditional stone villages create a wonderfully varied landscape. It's a proper mountain biking challenge — technical terrain, significant elevation, and self-navigation required — but the reward is riding through some of Portugal's wildest backcountry. Organized by Bikeservice with local support, the event combines tough riding with the warm hospitality of this lesser-known corner of the country.
