Hibernal Hills

About this event

Set in Hampshire's Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Hibernal Hills offers a proper winter challenge across the South Downs. The route traces the scenic Staunton and Monarchs Ways before climbing onto the South Downs Way for the return leg. Three distances (33km, 52km, and 81km) tackle rolling terrain punctuated by substantial climbs — the longest route packs in over 1800 metres of elevation gain. The course is runnable throughout, but those longer ascents demand respect. Starting in early February, this event opens the trail season and serves as the first leg of the South Downs Triple Crown challenge for those keen to complete all three events in a calendar year.
