Lakes 3000 Ultra

This 88-kilometre mountain ultra traverses the four highest peaks in England's Lake District, climbing 4,632 metres over dramatic Cumbrian fells. Starting from Keswick, the route passes over Scafell Pike, Helvellyn, Skiddaw and other iconic summits through some of Britain's most storied mountain terrain. It's a serious undertaking for experienced mountain runners with strong navigation skills — the course is partially marked, but participants must be confident with GPS files and map reading. Four checkpoints provide fuel and hydration, while three safety stations are positioned on exposed high ground. The 24-hour time limit frames this classic Lake District challenge, typically held in late June when daylight stretches long over the fells.
