I RIBAS CHALLENGE - JAVALI NIGHT TRAIL

About this event

The Javali Night Trail takes runners on a 15-kilometre journey through the hills around Ribas de Cima after dark. Running by headlamp through Portuguese woodland adds a different dimension to trail running, and the 739 metres of climbing makes for a solid workout without being extreme. The event welcomes runners new to night trails, though some experience on technical terrain helps. A post-race meal brings everyone together to swap stories from the darkness, and the event's name — javali means wild boar — nods to the local wildlife that might be heard moving through the undergrowth as runners pass.
