The Highland Fling follows 85 kilometres of the West Highland Way, Scotland's oldest long-distance footpath, through Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The route winds through ancient woodlands, past shimmering lochs, and across open moorland where views stretch for miles. With over 2,100 metres of climbing, this classic ultra demands solid trail experience and hill fitness. The event has built a reputation for its warm community atmosphere, where the Scottish ultrarunning scene gathers each September to tackle this iconic route through the rugged Highlands.
