The Grands Trails d'Auvergne offers six distances through the volcanic landscapes of central France, from a 16km introduction to a formidable 177km ultra with nearly 7,000 metres of climbing. Based in Aubusson, the routes traverse quiet forests and open ridgelines across ancient terrain shaped by volcanic activity. The middle distances — 26km and 50km — provide genuine mountain challenges with 980m and 1,892m of elevation respectively, while the 79km and 129km options step into serious ultra territory.
