The Glasgow to Edinburgh Ultra traces a historic 90-kilometre route between Scotland's two great cities, following paths that pass the Falkirk Wheel and remnants of the Antonine Wall, the Roman Empire's northernmost frontier. Starting at Glasgow's Riverside Museum and finishing in Edinburgh, this long-standing event connects two vibrant urban centres on foot while exploring Scotland's industrial and ancient heritage. The route is well-marked and supported throughout, with live tracking available. While the relatively flat profile (80 metres of elevation) suits experienced ultra runners, the distance and continuous forward movement demand solid fitness and pacing discipline. The weekend format allows participants to explore both cities before and after the event.
