Farol Adventure Trail - Flores Azores

Running between two lighthouses on Flores, the westernmost island of the Azores, this trail race captures the drama of Portugal's Atlantic frontier. The course traverses volcanic landscapes, lush valleys, and coastal cliffs across terrain that has earned UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status. Runners choose between a 17-kilometre route with 1,007 metres of climbing or the full 36-kilometre challenge covering 2,301 metres of elevation. The journey from Farol do Albernaz to Farol da Ponta das Lajes showcases the island's remote character — waterfalls, crater lakes, and endless ocean views.
