The Devon Coast to Coast lives up to its name, crossing the entire width of Devon from the southern shoreline at Wembury to the north coast. Four challenging distances span from 42km to an epic 180km journey across the county, each weaving through the region's remarkably varied terrain. Runners traverse coastal paths with sweeping sea views, descend into wooded valleys, cross open moorland, and roll through farmland. The elevation gain is substantial across all routes — from 960 metres on the shortest distance to over 4,500 metres on the full crossing. This is a serious test of endurance and navigation through one of England's most diverse landscapes, where coastal drama meets inland wilderness. Best suited to experienced ultra runners ready for genuine multi-terrain adventure.
