Chester Ultra
About this event
The Chester Ultra links some of Cheshire and the Welsh borders' finest trails into a challenging 164-kilometre journey. Runners traverse the Sandstone Trail's varied terrain, wind along the River Dee on the Marches Way, and tackle the distinctive hills of Helsby and Frodsham before threading through Delamere Forest and the historic landscapes around Beeston and Peckforton castles. With 1,463 metres of climbing spread across the distance, it's a proper test of endurance and navigation. Ten well-stocked checkpoints provide support throughout, and runners can pick up pacers from the halfway point. The route showcases the region's surprising diversity, from wooded trails to open ridgelines, making for a memorable hundred miles.
