Cheshire Ring Ultra 100 Mile

About this event

The Cheshire Ring Ultra follows 164 kilometres of historic canal towpaths around Greater Manchester, linking the Bridgewater, Macclesfield, and Trent & Mersey canals into one continuous loop. The terrain stays mostly flat with 605 metres of elevation, but the challenge lies in maintaining pace over varied canal-side surfaces for the full distance. Eleven checkpoints provide regular support, and runners can bring crew to certain locations and pick up pacers from halfway. The route reveals a quieter side of the North West, passing through historic mill towns, rural stretches, and peaceful waterside landscapes where industry and nature sit side by side. Finishers earn a 100-mile belt buckle, and live GPS tracking keeps supporters connected throughout this inaugural September edition.
