The Black Forest Trailrun Masters takes runners deep into Germany's legendary Black Forest, where dense pine forests and rolling highlands create a truly atmospheric setting. Based in Elzach, the event offers three challenging distances — 36km, 56km, and 93km — that weave through the region's characteristic mix of technical trails and sustained climbs. The longest route tackles over 4,300 metres of elevation gain, demanding strong technical skills and mountain fitness. Experienced trail runners will find the combination of demanding terrain and moody forest scenery rewarding, especially in early October when crisp temperatures and dramatic mist rolling through the valleys add to the atmosphere.
