HoWUT 2027

About this event

The HoWUT takes runners deep into the forested hills around Zell, with five distances that scale from challenging to genuinely demanding. The shortest route covers 24 kilometres with 680 metres of climbing, while the longest stretches to 166 kilometres with 4,500 metres of elevation gain. All courses wind through the Hunsrück region's dense woodlands and rolling terrain, where the climbing accumulates steadily rather than in dramatic bursts. This is an event for experienced trail runners looking to test their endurance in a beautiful but unforgiving landscape. The late May timing usually brings settled spring weather, though these forests can surprise with conditions ranging from sunshine to cool rain.
