Beacons Ultra, Trail Marathon and Half
About this event
The Beacons Ultra takes runners through the Brecon Beacons in early November, when Welsh weather shows its full character — from crisp sunshine to freezing mist. The 80km ultra route weaves through mountain trails, canal paths and quiet roads, including an ascent of Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales at 886 metres. Shorter 42km and 21km options follow portions of the same course, all sharing similar varied terrain. Coming late in the UK trail season, the event attracts an eclectic mix of runners, from seasoned ultra veterans to those stepping up in distance, all welcomed by organisers and marshals known for their exceptional warmth and creating a genuinely relaxed atmosphere on the trails.
