The Sunset Running Festival takes place along Edinburgh's Silverknowes Promenade, a flat coastal path perfect for chasing times. Runners complete laps of a 7km loop, choosing between single lap, half marathon, marathon, marathon relay, or the 6-hour ultra challenge. The traffic-free seafront route offers views across the Firth of Forth, and the late start time means everyone finishes as the sun sets over the water. With distances from 1km for kids up to ultra, it's designed for both personal bests and relay teams. The loop format creates a supportive atmosphere where runners pass each other throughout the evening, building momentum as the golden hour approaches.
