RideLondon-Essex brings world-class cycling to the countryside northeast of London, blending the capital's energy with Essex's rolling landscapes. Part of the larger RideLondon festival, this sportive welcomes over 25,000 riders tackling distances from 30 to 100 miles on fully closed roads. The route winds through charming towns like Ongar, Felsted, and Great Dunmow, offering wide country lanes, gentle hills, and fast stretches that suit club cyclists and ambitious amateurs. Essex locals line the streets with flags and cheers, creating genuine roadside atmosphere throughout. While starting and finishing in London, the heart of the challenge lies in Essex's scenic terrain. The course even shares sections with the UCI Women's World Tour RideLondon Classique, adding professional prestige to the weekend.
