Kalmar Sylvesterloppet

The Kalmar Sylvesterloppet brings runners to the streets of this historic Swedish coastal city on New Year's Eve for a festive end-of-year road race. The flat course loops around scenic Malmfjärden, starting and finishing at Fredriksskans fortress, offering views of the water and city landmarks along the way. With distances from 5K to 10K for adults, plus shorter youth races starting at just 400 meters, families and runners of all ages gather to close out the year together. The relaxed, celebratory atmosphere makes it less about competition and more about community—a Swedish tradition of moving into the new year with purpose and good company.
