Ganghofer Trail Leutasch

Set in the scenic Leutasch valley near the Austrian-German border, the Ganghofer Trail offers three well-crafted distances through Alpine terrain. Named after the Bavarian writer Ludwig Ganghofer who loved this region, the route winds through meadows and forests with views of the Wetterstein mountains. The shortest 7.4km loop makes a great introduction to trail running with minimal climbing, while the mid-distance option doubles the adventure with 190m of gain. The longest 21.8km course steps things up with 280m of elevation, giving runners a proper taste of Alpine trails without excessive technicality. The August timing means lush green landscapes and typically settled summer weather.
