Set beneath one of the Alps' most iconic peaks, the Matterhorn Ultraks offers a range of challenging mountain courses through Zermatt's dramatic high-altitude terrain. The event features routes from a short twilight vertical climb to the demanding 49km Sky race with over 3,600m of elevation gain. Most distances require solid mountain running experience, with technical trails winding past glaciers and alpine ridges. The 19km Active option suits intermediate runners ready to test themselves at altitude, while the evening VERTINIGHT provides a taste of the vertical challenge. Racing in the shadow of the Matterhorn adds an unforgettable backdrop to what's already a serious test of mountain running ability.
