Crete Half Marathon

The Crete Half Marathon winds through the heart of Minoa Pediadas, where olive groves and vineyards roll across the Cretan countryside. Starting from Arkalochori, the race offers three distances: a half marathon loop through mountain villages, a 10K route to Houmeri, and a 5K through town. While the half marathon suits experienced runners looking for a challenge, the shorter distances welcome those newer to racing. The course captures the essence of rural Crete—quiet roads, traditional villages, and that distinctive Mediterranean light. Organized by the local Athletic Health Club, this October race has grown into an international event while keeping its authentic village character.
