Cateran Trail Ultramarathon

The Cateran Trail Ultramarathon takes runners on a 55-mile journey through the Scottish Highlands, following ancient drove roads once used by cattle raiders. Starting from Gulabin Lodge in Spittal of Glenshee, the circular route is 90% off-road, weaving through forests, across rugged hillsides, and over open moorland. The 2,271 meters of climbing includes a final push to An Lairig Pass, where sweeping Highland views await before the descent to the finish. With its 15-hour cut-off and remote, wild character, this ultramarathon appeals to experienced runners looking for a genuine mountain challenge steeped in Scottish history.
