Arc of Attrition by UTMB®

About this event

The Arc of Attrition takes runners along Cornwall's dramatic South West Coast Path in the depths of winter, offering a true test of determination against the elements. Starting from the fishing village of Coverack, the course winds along clifftop trails, hidden coves, and windswept beaches where the Atlantic waves crash below. With four distance options ranging from 24km to 161km, there's a challenge suited to different experience levels, including a more accessible 12-mile route for those newer to coastal trail running. The January timing means runners face unpredictable weather—rain, wind, and mud are all part of the experience—making it as much a mental challenge as a physical one. The raw beauty of Cornwall's winter coastline, combined with the supportive trail community that characterizes UTMB events, creates an unforgettable adventure for those drawn to rugged, exposed terrain.
