Zumaiako Flysch Trail

The Zumaiako Flysch Trail takes runners along one of the Basque Coast's most spectacular geological formations. The flysch — dramatic layers of rock formed over millions of years — creates a stunning backdrop as the course weaves between coastal cliffs and inland trails. Two distances suit different ambitions: a 22K route with 1,000 meters of climbing that ventures deeper into the rugged terrain, and a shorter 14K option that still captures the essence of this remarkable landscape. Based in the charming fishing village of Zumaia, runners finish with views over the Cantabrian Sea. The terrain mixes technical coastal paths with forest trails, demanding focus and rewarding it with constantly changing vistas.
