Zatracené vrchy takes runners through the rugged backcountry around Bordovice in the Czech Republic. The single 71-kilometre route packs in over 3,000 metres of climbing, making it a serious test for experienced trail runners. The race lives up to its name — 'Damned Hills' — with relentless elevation changes that demand both physical endurance and mental fortitude. Set in early October when autumn colours typically blanket the Czech countryside, the course winds through forests and hills that remain relatively untouched by trail running tourism. This is one for runners who prefer their trails raw and their achievements hard-earned.
