Set in the mountains above Bione in northern Italy, the Winter Trail Monte Prealba offers a proper January challenge across varied alpine terrain. Four distances range from a 12km route with 678m of climbing to a serious 71km ultra tackling over 4,400m of elevation gain. Winter conditions add an extra dimension, with trails potentially snow-covered and temperatures demanding careful preparation. The shorter routes provide a taste of alpine winter running, while the longer distances test even experienced mountain runners. The Monte Prealba massif delivers steady climbs and technical descents through forested sections and open ridgelines.
