Tabernulae Trail

The Tabernulae Trail offers a scenic 20km journey through the rolling hills of Chianti, where vineyards meet wooded trails in classic Tuscan countryside. Set in mid-December near the medieval town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, just outside Florence, this route combines moderate climbing (602m of ascent) with fast, runnable sections through wine country. The course winds through landscapes that shift between neat rows of vines and quiet forest paths, offering varied terrain without excessive technical demands. For many runners, it's become a satisfying way to close out the racing season — challenging enough to feel purposeful, but not so demanding that winter training can't begin the next week.
