Valtellina Wine Trail

The Valtellina Wine Trail takes runners through the terraced vineyards of Tirano, where Alpine trails meet Italy's historic wine country near the Swiss border. Three routes wind through mountainside vineyards overlooking the Adda Valley, ranging from 13 kilometres with 653 metres of climbing to a demanding 42-kilometre course gaining 1,680 metres. November brings cooler temperatures and autumn colors to the vines, with the course passing through centuries-old wine villages. The terrain mixes technical vineyard paths with proper Alpine trails, rewarding effort with views across the valley and, at the finish, access to the region's renowned Nebbiolo and Sforzato wines.
