The Ultra Tour Monte Rosa circles one of the Alps' most dramatic massifs, weaving between Switzerland and Italy through high alpine terrain. Runners tackle technical single track and exposed ridgelines, with the Matterhorn frequently visible on the horizon. Four distances cater to different ambitions: a 19-kilometre route introduces newer trail runners to the stunning Monte Rosa landscape, while the longest courses are serious undertakings — the 170-kilometre option climbs nearly 11,000 metres through remote mountain passes and traditional alpine villages. Based in Grächen, the event captures that authentic Swiss mountain atmosphere where trail running feels like a natural extension of the landscape itself.
