The Swiss Canyon Trail ventures into the quieter corners of Switzerland's Jura mountains, following trails through the Val-de-Travers and northern Vaud canton. Runners navigate deep canyons, forested ridges, and technical single-track that reveal the Jura's rugged character. Six distances from 17km to 169km cater to different ambitions, though the longer routes demand serious ultra credentials. The 169km option covers over 8,500 metres of elevation gain through remote terrain where mental toughness counts as much as fitness. Night running skills and careful pacing become essential on these extended formats. Based in Couvet, the event takes advantage of early June's typically stable mountain conditions.
