Trail des Tranchées

The Trail des Tranchées runs through the historic battlefields of Verdun, where forest trails now wind through landscape shaped by World War I. Four running distances from 14 to 55 kilometers traverse wooded terrain marked by trenches and memorials, offering a unique blend of trail running and remembrance. The courses range from the approachable Circuit Baïonnette with gentle elevation to the challenging Circuit Vaillant that tests endurance across varied terrain. A Nordic walking option shares the same 14-kilometer route. Late March timing means runners experience the forest awakening from winter, with mud and roots adding technical interest to paths steeped in history.
