TRAIL DES SAPINS

About this event

The Trail des Sapins takes runners through the forested highlands around Lalouvesc in the Ardèche, where autumn colours paint the landscape in rich golds and russets. The event offers two distinct challenges: a 22km route with nearly 1,000 metres of climbing that provides a solid introduction to mountain trails, and a more demanding 48km course with over 2,200 metres of elevation gain threading through pine forests and open ridges. Set in late October, runners can expect crisp mountain air and the particular beauty of the French countryside preparing for winter. The terrain combines forest tracks with technical sections, rewarding those who pace themselves through the rolling terrain of this lesser-known corner of the Rhône-Alpes.
